GETTING CRAFTY!
So I love crafts, but not just any sort of crafts - RECYCLED crafts!
Why? Because it’s usually free (well except the expense of glue and minor materials), you get to put junk to use, and it looks really cool - so when friends say “Wow that is awesome” you say, “Oh yeah I made that from left over plastic bottles”
So my friend Caleb and I recently made a bulletin board for his hall (he’s an RA) and it look like this:

Well, I’m pretty impressed by it.
Anywho…the point of this post is not to show off my bulletin board skills but to tell of some upcoming crafts I will be doing! I’m super excited because I’ve wanted to do them for a while, and this next month I will have tons of time!
1.

EQUALS a paper mached head decoration! Just clip out pictures or words from ads and paper mache them to the head! A great way to make motivational sayings into art - other than just framing them!
2.
Homemade envelopes! Take construction paper, scissors, glue, and markers or fine point sharpies (for a more elegant look)…First cut and paste to make custom sized envelopes…then go to town with markers! This is a cheap way to send letters home!
3.
Unused panty-hose made into an elegant top.
I found this one online so I can’t claim this idea. Elle magazine’s online thread of 25 Beauty Tips Reusing Household Items. Cut the feet out of stocking (these become the arms), and I’m guessing you cut a hole in the crotch and that becomes the neck hole. Then wear it under a nice tank, strapless, or dress. I want to give it a try…the most damage I could do is ruin a pair of pantyhose that will never get used anyways.
4. Dye my stained clothes.
I have this romper that I got for $2. It was so cheap because there is a stain of what looks like soda or coffee on the front. So what can I do? DYE IT! I want to put my dying skills to the test to see if I can make this look store bought. Just dying it a nice light brown will give it the perfect, fresh look I want!
For now that is all.
